As times change and our communities evolve, we have begun as a society to shift away from many aspects of tradition, including within funeral service.       One of the most touching aspects of a funeral service is witnessing the circle of support that will surround a grieving family amid loss. It is this gathering of community that makes the path of grief one that is not walked alone. Grieving collectively is not only comforting, but it can also strengthen bonds within a family or community. This same support can still occur without services; however, it may not look quite the same. Being able to set aside a time and place for remembrance can have a positive, lasting impact on all affected by a loss.

These “special touches” can include anything from photo/poster boards, reading special poems/stories, or inviting loved ones to share their own memories.
