  1. My family knew the Barber’s both professionally and personally. My grandparents were also members of Hammerton Methodist Church. My mother Catherine Ruoss used Barber’s florists exclusively her entire life! Even though he moved to New Holland I still often ran into him around town. He never failed to ask how my mother and myself were doing! Due to my recent surgery I may not be able to even make the viewing but even if not. My heart will be with the family.

  5. My condolences to the family. We can find comfort when we consider how God provides such comfort. “ Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

  12. ~ Sending Heartfelt Thoughts and Uplifting Prayers To The Entire Barber Family. Barber’s Florist was a big part of both of our family’s life(Tompkins and Plankinton) growing up in Kennett Square. I’m dating myself, …but all the way back to the late ’50’s when I was a kid!! Mr. Barber(Roland) and Kenny were always so good at what they did. They certainly made arranging flowers look easy!! They could do it in a flash!! They ran a “tight ship”, but were always kind, funny, patient, accommodating, knowledgeable, and professional. Mr. Barber, Kenny, and their staff helped us through some very difficult times, but also celebrated the more joyous occasions too, always with beautiful flower arrangements. We are so glad to hear this legacy lives on with the younger generation. All of you will continue to be in our thoughts during this most difficult of times. Be assured Kenny is now resting oh so peacefully in The Loving Arms of Jesus. Our Love/His Peace, Howard and Betsy Tompkins and Family

  14. Will miss Ken’s smile and kindness. We ran into him a few times when he was visiting the flower shop. He always remembered me and asked about my Mom. She has been a customer for as long as I can remember. He would tell me stories about when my Grandfather had his floral business in Avondale. Would tease and say he was the competition. Barbers has helped our family celebrate in happiness and sadness with thier beautiful floral work. Ken made my youngest sons flowers for his prom , and made them special… will always remember that. My deepest sympathy to the Barber family , sendings prayers from the Gentry /Johnston Family .

  20. May you all find peace and healing in your wonderful memories. Please know that Mr. Barber and his family have been a huge part of my family’s life even though I moved away many years ago. I’ve continued to use Barber’s Florist for my flowers whenever I needed a beautiful bouquet or arrangement for my Kennett relatives. My mother still has gorgeous African Violets I had delivered to her years ago on Mother’s Day. You have brought so much joy and pleasure to so many over the years. What a wonderful legacy! God bless you all.
