Dear Jamie and Scott,
Your Mother was a good friend for many years at AGHS. We took several science classes together including an early introduction to computers through Radio Shack on Kirkwood Hwy. We were able to bounce a blip all around the screen after 3 hours of coding. I remember saying that I thought it was stupid but your brilliant Mother knew it was the future. We also spent several days visiting nuclear sites in PA including Limmerick and Three Mile Island. In fact we were there the day the first technicians went into the core for clean up. We watched it unfold by live stream.
I always enjoyed her company and will always remember her with the fondest of memories. Please accept my sincere sorrow for your loss. Madame Marjorie Beachy
Janis and I taught with Joan for many years. She was a role model to her students, teaching young women that they could make a difference. We worked together to develop future leaders through AGYEA. She was a great example to education being life long. She left behind a great legacy.
Janis and I have very fond memories of Joan. We taught with her and worshipped with her family. We worked together to develop leadership opportunities for students in AGYEA. She was an excellent educator and role model for students.
I am very saddened to see this.
Joan was an brilliant woman and great teacher and colleague.
