Marian Johnson

January 17, 2021 West Grove, PA Supportive, Loving, Kind

Marian Johnson, age 99 of West Grove, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Marian was the wife of the late Lewis Johnson, her high school sweetheart, who predeceased her in 1988.

Marian was truly the matriarch of her family. She was heavily involved in her children’s lives and activities. She was the first to volunteer to lead the 4-H Club, Girl Scout and Cub Scout meetings that her kids attended.

Marian also enjoyed assisting at Jennersville Hospital, where she was a volunteer for over 40 years. Additionally, she was one of the very first members of the Jennersville Senior Circle and a long-time member of the Kennett Senior Center.

In her free time, Marian enjoyed crafting, gardening and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Marian was supportive, loving, kind and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Marian is survived by two sons, Thomas Johnson (Christine) and Frances M. Johnson (Sharon); her daughter, Nancy Graham; her daughter in law, Peggy Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews; and of course her dog and cat, Maggie and Dusty.

In addition to her husband, Lewis, Marian was predeceased by three sons, James S. “Eggy” Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Timothy Johnson; her brother, Frances Patrick Moran; and her sister, Ann Fiore.

Services for Marian will be private.

Arrangements by Foulk Funeral Home of West Grove, PA.

  1. So sorry to learn of Marions passing. She was a wonderful caring person. Many memories of her volunteering at Jennersville hospital. And I did get to share in her 90th birthday celebration. May she Rest In Peace. Pat Fitzpatrick

  2. Marion was a kindhearted dedicated lady with a willingness to step in where she was needed.
She very quietly and unassumingly did so much for the Hospital and the entire Avon Grove Community. I am sure she will be missed and remembered by many who wish to thank her for her commitment. Most comforting she will be reunited with her boys.

  4. To Marian’s Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Your mom and I go way back; she would sometimes babysit me when my parents lived in Spruce Apartments. Then Marian and I reconnected when I met up with her at Senior Circle. We always had great talks together and she was such an aspiring person. With deepest sympathy Elaine Fiore.
