  7. Julie and Family — sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing and your loss. Like so many others, I remember him as one of the “fixtures” at the HP Avondale Division. Whether it was seeing him at the picnic grounds at an activity, or around the site, he was always a friendly, smiling face and good for a laugh or two. Very sorry for your loss — and his loss to our prior HP Avondale family as well.

  17. Charlie was unique since birth, having been born in a leap year. He gets to celebrate his birthday just once every four years. We were very happy to be with him on his 21st birthday last year, and he was drinking heavily on that day!

We knew Charlie back in these wonderful HP days, I was a young man sent by HP from China to PA Avondale facility for training. During my three month stay, Charlie and Julie welcomed us, “chauffeured” us, hosted us, and made us feel at home away from home. He introduced us to his family – Sharon and Buzz and their children, his friends, and to the neighborhood. Of course, we introduced Chinese food to him and his family/friends too.

We kept our friendship with Charlie and Julie for many years, even down to my children who, to this day, still remember his homemade creamy sausage poured over biscuits for breakfast!

Charlie had a very unique, big, loving, smiling face that will be remembered by all of us forever. Charlie, we love you!

  24. Aunt Julie,
What can i say? What a character Charlie was! The first person to introduce me to a “white Russian”! I will never forget our family Christmas parties with him! And boy could he fix a good drink! He was a master of bear hugs and always had that “twinkle” of mischief in his eye! 33 years? That’s all?! It seems like Charlie was a part of my life forever! My heart is so sad right now, but I am thankful he is mo longer suffering or in pain! Charlie was too full of life to be down for long! I can see his smile and hear him teasing me, as I write this! He adopted all of us “kids” as his own! You never left a part without laughing and a big hug, from Charlie! And boy, did he love you! I am so thankful he came in to your life and filled it with the joy you both shared for so many years! I know this is a difficult time. I pray that the memories and happiness of the love you shared, will carry you thru the tough days! We all loved Charlie SO much! The world lost a shining star! I can hear pop-pop right now saying “ What the hell you doing here?!?!” Lol. You know he is up there in Heaven, picking on Pop-pop and Jimmy already! (Hahaha). We have some good ones up there, looking over us! Sorry we can’t be there, but hope to see you one day soon! Sending you all the hugs and love from Montana, until we see you again! Charlie, I love you and i will miss you so much! Landenberg just win’t be the same! Watch over us and especially keep Aunt Julie safe!
